  1. I just LOVE the way you write. Since I began with more serious health issues, I gathered all the data I could and started to experiment with my diet. A lot of that data came from blogs, mostly paleo-blogs. It was a little later when I found yours. I read it everyday, one random post per day (minimum!). I still rely on other blogs for scientifics facts, and general info, but you blog is on a whole different level. It’s a soothing experience.
Thank you for being so compassionate and for showing how much you care in your blog.

  2. So glad to have found your blog. I was diagnosed with RA in 1997 at the age of 21. It’s been a long road. I started to make dietary changes just recently, beginning with a gluten-free diet almost 2 years ago. It made such a difference that I moved on to paleo (probably more primal) the last few months and my disease activity continues to decrease. Thank you for sharing your research. I look forward to reading more and feeling better because of it. I wish you well too.

    1. Welcome, Stephanie! Thanks for sharing your story. Isn’t it wonderful that food can be medicine?

  3. Hey, hope you are having a good day. This is my first time looking at life changing diets. I am confused as to which one to begin with. I have RA and have been on Humira injections, meloxicam and tramadol for the past 4 or 5 years. I have been on Methotrexate but discontinued it because it was making my hair fall out. I don’t want to continue putting these drugs in my body for the rest of my life. This is all so much information to absorb, so any guidance would be so appreciated.

    1. Welcome, Tammy! Check out my Getting Started page, for step-by-step guidance. Congratulations on taking the first step – commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Your body will thank you! If you have any questions as you go along, let me know.

  4. I am thrilled to have found your website! My son has retractable epilepsy but I am realizing he is allergic to SO many things and so we we are going to combine the ketogenic diet along with the Autoimmune Paleo as well.
Have you found that it’s important to be sure the meat (animals) we eat are fed grass or pastured? I am seeing a link with seizure activity and the meat I feed my son.

Thanks!!! I’m so excited to keep reading!!

    1. Hi Breena, that’s an excellent question. Some people are more sensitive than others and do react to CAFO meat. Stacy from Paleo Parents is one. Whether the reaction is to the grains the animals were fed, or the hormones or the antibiotics, is unclear. But it is definitely a motivation to stick with the pastured meats, if you can. Also, if you haven’t read Molly & Sam’s story on my blog, she shared how she stopped her son’s seizures with the GAPS diet (very similar to paleo, but with an emphasis on healing foods like bone broths, etc.) Thanks for saying hello. I’m so inspired by mothers like you!

  5. Hi Eileen, so glad I found you! I’ve been searching for weeks for healing via Gaps and you have so much hard-to-find info! Thanks so much, I can now get real with my healing (allergies, asthma, arthritis, candida…) without the hit and miss and trying to decipher the GAPS. The comparisons are SO helpful!

  6. I have osteo arthritis, becoming very painful. Have gotten some advice from my son-in-law who is a pharmacist and nutritionist and am experimenting with diet.

    1. Welcome, LeVonda. Many people with osteoarthritis find great pain relief through dietary changes.

  7. I have made some diet adjustments (BIG adjustments) and learned about what causes inflammation and what to avoid. What I seem to be missing is talking with others’ who have this, who can relate to the fatigue and have ideas on how to cope. Glad to find this community.

  8. Just diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Looking forward to reading your blog and learning about nutrition and recipes and foods that will enhance my living.

    1. Hi Sue. I’m sorry you’re dealing with PA, but you’ll definitely find people who understand here, and information that can help. Welcome.
